Productive

Yesterday, we were super productive and got a ton of things taken care of. We went to lunch with my grandparents, uncle, aunt, cousin, and two other relatives. Then our aunt took us to get our haircuts. Her hairdresser remembers me from 4 years ago, which I thought was cute. He probably hasn’t had to cut and thin out so much hair since then. Everyone here pretty much has really short and thin, straight hair. So, I'm a weird Asian. My head feels so much lighter after he thinned out my hair, I love it. I told him he should come to Chicago and open up a place, he’d make so much more money there for a haircut like that.

Afterward, we drove through traffic to this big flea-market type place. People here are all crazy drivers, so much honking. .it’s ridiculous. I would never ever try driving here. The parking guy gave us a big spot because he says we’re girls and have more issues driving. Or I guess he implied that. I called him sexist and my aunt called him really nice. Haha, alright. This one floor in the building we parked at was full of tailors. So many foreigners – as in Americans and Europeans etc. – getting suits and coats made. A lot were imitations of brand name designers. I got a suit and trench made and bought two pairs of sunglasses. Yay! We grabbed some food and drove to this building in Pudong that was full of glasses and sunglasses. We had to prescribe some glasses for each of us, me and my sister. That took a while, since we had to bargain and negotiate until we found the right pair and price. The lady said she wanted me to be her daughter, she loved me. Or she was just sucking up so we’d take her price – probably that. Also, apparently I have some sort of an accent when I speak Chinese so they know I’m not from here…fantastic.
