Xi'an Day 2 (6/18/2012): Big Wild Goose Pagoda (大雁塔), Bell Tower (钟楼), Muslim Food Street (回民街)

The hotel we stayed at was in a great location, we bused/taxied our way around most of the city. Transportation in Xi'an was less developed than in Shanghai. Not all the buses were air conditioned and there was one subway line versus Shanghai's 10+. We bused and walked our way to another side of the city and walked around this sculpture park before seeing the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

The baby sis.

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda (大雁塔) is a famous Buddhist pagoda originally built in the year 589. While a huge 8.0 earthquake struck the area during the Ming Dynasty (1386-1644) destroying 90% of the buildings in the area, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda survived with only moderate damage to the top. The pagoda is located in the Da Ci'en Temple complex.
Hey girl hey. (little sister)

  1. Hi, this is Andy from michiblogs. I have added your stuff to the site! I was wondering if you could put a link to michiblogs somewhere on your blog. If so, that would be great. Thanks!
